As ASTM (ASME) standards are most commonly used in pipeline design, it is sometimes necessary to find a good ASTM/ASME equivalent for EN 16Mo3 steel.

16Mo3 Material ASTM equivalent:
Seamless Pipes: ASTM A335 P1
Rods: ASTM A217 WC1
Welded Pipe/Slabs: ASTM A204 Gr.A & Gr. B

Generally , 16Mo3 is a Cr-Mo alloy steel. The addition of molybdenum (Mo) not only increases the resistance to pitting corrosion, but also significantly increases the creep strength at elevated temperatures. Chromium (Cr) increases resistance to high temperature hydrogen attack and graphitization.
