What is galvanized steel? What are the usage areas of galvanized steel?

galvanized steelrefers to a steel plate whose surface is coated with zinc. Galvanizing is an economical and effective anticorrosive method that is frequently used, and about half of the world's zinc production is used in this process. Hot-dip galvanized steel has the best comprehensive properties such as corrosion resistance, forming and coating, as well as cost and good appearance advantages.

It can be divided into the following categories according to the production and processing methods:

1- Hot dipped galvanized steel hair. The steel plate is immersed in a bath of molten zinc and a layer of zinc steel sheet is adhered to the surface. At present, it is mainly produced by the continuous galvanizing process, that is, the helical steel sheet is immersed in a continuous zinc plating bath with molten zinc to make galvanized steel sheet.

2-  Galvanized steel sheet  This steel sheet is also produced by the hot-dip method, but immediately after leaving the tank, it is heated to approximately 500°C to form an alloyed thin film of zinc and iron. This galvanized steel The sheet has good adhesion and weldability.

3- Galvanized steel sheet. produced by electroplating galvanized steel sheet has good machinability. But the coating is thin and the corrosion resistance is not as good as hot-dip galvanized sheet;

4- Single-sided and double-sided differential galvanized steel. One sided galvanized steel, that is, only one side galvanized products. It has better adaptability in welding, painting, anti-rust treatment and machining than double-sided galvanized sheet. To overcome the deficiencies of uncoated zinc on one side, there is another type of galvanized sheet coated with a thin layer of zinc, that is, double-sided galvanized sheet, on the other side;

5- Alloy and composite galvanized steel sheet. Zinc and aluminum, lead, zinc etc. It is made from other metals such as steel or even composite coated steel plates. This steel sheet has both excellent anti-rust performance and good coating performance.

In addition to the above five types, colored galvanized steel sheets, with printed coating galvanized steel sheets and polyvinyl chloride laminated galvanized steel sheets. However, hot-dip galvanized sheet is still the most widely used.

galvanized steel applied places

Galvanized steel is mainly used in the construction, light industry, automotive, agriculture, livestock, fishing and commercial industries.

The construction is mainly used in civil construction houses with anti-corrosive stop-industrial materials and panels, roof grilles, balcony panels, windowsills, newsstands, warehouses, rolling doors, heaters, rainwater pipes, etc.

Light industry, household appliances, civil chimneys, kitchen utensils, etc. It is used for housing. The automotive industry is mainly used to make corrosion-resistant parts for automobiles;

Agriculture, livestock and fishery are mainly used in grain storage and transportation, frozen processing of meat and aquatic products, etc. Using for;

The trade is mainly used for the storage and transportation of materials, packaging tools, etc. Refrigerators, washing machines, switch cabinets, air conditioners, microwave ovens, toasters, copiers, vending machines, fans, vacuum cleaners, etc. galvanized steel use sheet metal.

Classification of galvanized steel
Galvanized sheet is divided according to the layout: there are zinc flower galvanized sheet and non-zinc flower galvanized sheet.

According to the zinc layer thickness: 80 GR zinc; 100 GR of zinc; 120 GR of zinc; 180 GR of zinc; 275 GR of zinc.

What is Galvanized Sheet?

Many people know what galvanized steel is. Used for a wide variety of applications from HVAC duct to garden buckets; home decoration for trash cans. The plow coating on the surface makes it visually appealing, but also makes it more durable and corrosion resistant.

So how is galvanized steel made? Where does this plow come from? Let's find out.

Hot Dipped Galvanizedsucking

Galvanized steel is a carbon steel coated with zinc. The most common method of zinc coating is the hot dip process.

The hot dip process involves immersing the carbon steel in a bath of molten zinc (approximately 680 degrees Fahrenheit). When the material is removed from the zinc bath and cooled, a reaction to oxygen in the air occurs. The reaction causes the zinc to become part of the steel (iron-zinc alloy bond). The new surface finish appears to have a crystal finish or a glowing finish.

While this is the most common form of galvanization, it is often used for steel products that were previously manufactured as the thickness of the final product could not be easily controlled. Another method of galvanizing is continuous galvanizing.
